Session One: Market Update
The night begins with a comprehensive market update that pieces together national and state economic data from an investor's perspective in order to form an opinion on what's likely to happen to property prices over the next six months. The question I try to answer is: Is now the best time to be buying, selling or holding?
Armed with this information, investors can maximise their profits by applying the right strategy to the right market conditions.
Session Two: Investor Training
This session targets an area of investor education with the aim of increasing skill and competence. This time, the topic is 'sustainable and ethical investing', which is timely and important given the recent floods, cyclones and bush fires that have ravaged Australia.
Session Three: Finance Update
I'm very lucky to have finance expert Colin McIlfatrick as my guest speaker at each Market Update. Colin is a partner in one of Australia's largest independent mortgage brokers and has a reputation for telling it like it really is - warts and all.
This time, aside from talking about the best deals in the mortgage market, Colin will be focusing on investor risk management, and more importantly, the concept of insuring income to protect mortgage pay outs.
Session Four: US Property Investing
Over the last few market updates, I have gradually outlined more and more news about my unfolding US property investing experiences. It's been nearly 18 months since my first visit over, and with much experience under my belt, and almost US$1m invested in the market, it's time to go back to the beginning and outline the pros and cons in a way that you can weigh up whether you'd like to invest in the US too.
I'll also include the details of some of my recent purchases so you can see what I'm buying and what my expected profit is.
